Recent project

When thinking about the assignment recently assigned in class, I can not fathom a cool marble contraption that does not involve alcohol, video games or football. To me, that is what college is all about. Forget about gaining an education valuable for your future. Everything you need to know about your job will be taught to you in the first two weeks you start. College is about building relationships, stimulating your thinking process, and having as much fun as possible(with limits of course: often set by your standards, your parents standards and the money they are willing to supply to your awesome habits).

In returning to class room discussion, I believe our drinking game created during class on Tuesday really relates and peaks an interest in the class. My only hope is that no one spends the next two days creating an immaculate contraption to overshadow our original idea. A cool idea...yes... but an idea worth keeping, we'll decide that befor class on Thursday.

Get rich quick

Ok I don't know most of the students in this class, but if i had to guess many of you have had several "get rich quick" schemes that never really panned out. Whether time, money or motivation got in your way, many good ideas go to waste everyday. This blog is an excellent opportunity to atleast document your ideas and provide an easy way to look back at them and wonder if they were actually a good idea.

I love watching Donny Deutsch's the big idea. If you haven't seen, i suggest you watch it. It incorporates all the get rich quick schemes you failed to recognize.

My first thought about these schemes..... AWESOME!! Who doesn't want a lot of money now?? I''ve had several ideas, from home ointment to canned peppers, but I've lacked the time nescessary to commit these ideas to great products.

One product that i have to love to hate is UGG's. The designers are gabillionaires!! but i hate the style. My mother bought me a pair of UGG clogs to wear, and I love them. The clog fashion allows for easy wear and does not define a style. Women wearing UGGs over their jeans does define a fashion though, and I am pretty sure I despise it. Walk around campus and count the number of UGGs you see, then multiply that by the number of colleges in the US. Not counting all the older women wearing UGGS, the number is astounding. Not only do I dislike the style (most of them discounting a few "cool looking" styles) but i can not believe the money UGG is making. A complete fashion phenomenon. So not cool but so cool at the same time. Maybe I am just over thinking the situation, but think about it, UGGs dominate the female winter wardrobe. They are making a killing. Why couldn't I have thought of the original UGG design??

ENGR 407 - first post

Well I have no idea what I am doing setting this up. Hopefully this will suffice for the blogs necessary for the class.

First thought: I hate personalized license plates, with the emphasis on hate. I have yet to see one that made me think, "wow that is a cool license plate", instead I am usually like "wow what possessed that person to print that on their license plate!?!"
